Question 35

THE LONGEST question I have ever posted or rather dared to post. But, what the hell, I'm loving this!
This man clicked what is arguably the most iconic and popular picture of all time. I'm obviously looking for the picture and not the identity of this man. Connect the picture to the text. Read on..
The term X means 'Little war' in Spanish.
The concept of X marketing was invented as an unconventional system of promotions that relies on time, energy, and imagination rather than a big marketing budget. Typically X marketing campaigns are unexpected and unconventional; potentially interactive; and consumers are targeted in unexpected places. The objective of X marketing is to create a unique, engaging and thought provoking concept to generate buzz and consequently turn viral.
It involves unusual approaches such as intercept encounters in public places, street giveaways of products, PR stunts, any unconventional marketing intended to get maximum results from minimal resources. More innovative approaches to X marketing include utilizing cutting edge mobile digital technologies to really engage the consumer and create a memorable brand experience.
X filmmaking refers to a form of independent filmmaking characterized by low budgets, skeleton crews and simple props using whatever is available. Often scenes are shot quickly in real locations without any warning, and without obtaining permission from the owners of the locations. Studios tend not to use X filmmaking tactics because they could be sued, fined, or let their reputation hurt.
X diplomacy is both a method of diplomacy and an alternative approach to international relations designed for the globalization age. It is situated at the far end of the diplomacy spectrum that features traditional diplomacy at one end and public diplomacy near the centre(WHATEVER THAT MEANS)

Answer: It's Guerrilla. The text refers to Guerrilla marketing, Guerrilla filmmaking and Guerrilla diplomacy. The pic is 'Guerrillero Heroico', meaning 'Heroic Guerrilla', referring to Che Guevara, as we all very well know.

Question 33

Again, just a piece of info from Wiki turned into a question. Please don't Google, because there is no need to; it's a sitter.
Daood Gilani was born in Washington D.C., where his father, Sayed Salim Gilani, worked for the Voice of America. His Maryland born mother, Serrill Y worked as a secretary at the Pakistan embassy in Washington at the time of his birth and was the daughter of former University of Maryland football star L. X Y. He has a younger sister Syedah, and half-brother Danyal Gilani, who was formerly the spokesperson for the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and presently serves as Pakistan's press attache in Beijing.
His parent's marriage broke in the mid-1960's , and he returned to Pakistan along with his father and sister. There Daood attended a preparatory boy's high school for the military. In 1977, when the Government of Pakistan was overthrown in a coup, he returned to America with his mother and grew up over the bar that his mother owned in Philadelphia. In 1985, he married a Pennsylvania State Universuty student, but got divorced in 1987 due to cultural conflicts. How is he better known today? (The use of swear words to answer the question is permitted)

Question 32

Warning sign at the border of what?

Answer: Area 51 it is.

Question 31

This book was the third largest bestseller of its time. It influenced a large number of intellectuals and appears by title in many of the major Marxist writings of the day.
It is said and I quote here "It is one of the few books ever published that created almost immediately on its appearance a political mass movement."
The book tells the story of a Julian West, a young American who, towards the end of the 19th century, falls into a deep hypnosis induced sleep and wakes up one hundred and thirteen years later. It is the year 2000, and while he was sleeping, the US has been transformed into a socialist utopia. The remaining of the book outlines Bellamy's thoughts about improving the future.
Major themes in the book are the dangers of the stock market, benefits of a socialist legal system, music, and the use of an "Industrial Army" to make tasks smoother. In the book, Bellamy has also predicted sermons and music being available at home through "cable telephone"
Although Bellamy's book did not discuss technology or the economy in detail, commentators frequently compare the book with actual economic and technological developements, the most important being the first ever mention and introduction of X, by virtue of which all citizens receive equal "credit". For example, those with difficult, dangerous jobs work less hours. A remarkable book considering the time when it was written. Identify both X and The book.

Answer: Looking Backard, in which the term Credit card is first mentioned.

Question 29

X was founded in 1796 by a group led by Jebediah X. After misinterpretating a passage in the bible, the group left Maryland, trying to find the "New sodom". After X refused to found a town where men were free to marry their cousins, half of the group left. The dissenters founded Y, named after fellow pioneer Y Manhattan, and the two cities remain rivals to this day. X reached its pinnacle in the mid-20th century, when it became the home of the world's first Aquacar factory, one half of the country was said to wear X galoshes and X's streets were literally paved with gold. The city's prosperity faded; a Time cover story on X called it "America's Worst City" and Newsweek called the city "America's Crud Bucket"

Question 26:Hue and cry

People with red-green colour blindness have difficulty discriminating red and green hues. There are various forms of this condition such as:
Protanopia:Lacking the long wavelength sensitive rental cones, those with this condition are unable to distinguish between colours in the green-yellow-red section of the spectrum. They have a neutral point at greenish wavelength around 492 nm, which means that they cannot discriminate light of this wavelength from white. For the protanope, brightness of the red, yellow, orange colours is much reduced as compared to normal brightness. The dimming can be so pronounced that reds can be confused with black or dark gray, and red traffic lights appear to be extinguished. Violet, lavender, purple are indistinguishable from blue because their reddish components are so dimmed that they are invisible.
For example, pink flowers, reflecting both red and blue light appear just blue to a protanope. Unilateral dichromats report that with only their protanopic eye open, they see wavelengths below neutral points as blue and wavelengths above neutral points as yellow.
Another form is deuteranopia, where people, lacking the medium wavelength sensitive rental cones, suffer from the same hue discrimination problems, but without the abnormal dimming. Some other forms are protanomaly and deuteranomaly.
So after all this hue and cry, just connect the text (after reading it carefully) to the pic.
P.S. People who are bored and tired of reading the entire text, just read the first line. That should be enough.

Answer: Yes, Zuckerberg has Red-Green colour blindness, which results in Facebook's most prominent colour being Blue.

Question 24

Again, quite simple. What?
The X were designed by the Y Navy, in collaboration with the United States space agency NASA. They have a diameter of 54 centimetres (21 in), and have eight wheels located on the top and the bottom, with a damping system for mobility in the pipeline. They have a harness, an oxygen supply, and a microphone with speakers. Officially, three prototypes of the X were created. The 1st had a larger diameter than the other two and was used in tests in the shaft created by the T-130 drill. The 2nd was operated with an Austrian pulley system. The 3rd was held in reserve and not used. Several major online news media organizations produced illustrations of the basic X design. Auction experts estimate that the X-2 could be worth up to US$1 million.

Question 17

1)X-Y binary-coded decimal, also called biased representation, is a numeral system used on some older computers that uses a pre-specified number N as a biasing value. It is a way to represent values with a balanced number of positive and negative numbers. In X, numbers are represented as decimal digits, and each digit is represented by four bits as the BCD value plus Y (the "X" amount):The smallest binary number represents the smallest value. (i.e. 0 − X Value) The greatest binary number represents the largest value. (i.e. 2 N+1 − X Value − 1) The primary advantage of this coding over BCD coding is that a decimal number can be nines' complemented (for subtraction) as easily as a binary number can be ones' complemented; just invert all bits. In addition, when the sum of two digits is greater than 9, the carry bit of a four bit adder will be set high. This works because, when adding two numbers that are greater or equal to zero, an "X" value of six results in the sum. Since a four bit integer can only hold values 0 to 15, an X of six means that any sum over nine will overflow. Adding X-Y works on a different algorithm than BCD coding or regular binary numbers. When you add two numbers in this system together, the result is not an X-Y number. In order to correct this problem, when you are finished adding each digit, you have to subtract Y if the digit is less than decimal 10 and add Y if the number is greater than or equal to decimal 10 (thus causing the number to wrap).
2)An Z cipher, also known as Z's cipher, the shift cipher, Z's code or Z shift, is one of the simplest and most widely known encryption techniques. It is a type of substitution cipher in which each letter in the plaintext is replaced by a letter some fixed number of positions down the alphabet. For example, with a shift of Y. The method is named after Z, who used it to communicate with his generals. The encryption step performed by a Z cipher is often incorporated as part of more complex schemes, such as the Vigenère cipher, and still has modern application in the ROT13 system. As with all single alphabet substitution ciphers, Z cipher is easily broken and in practice offers essentially no communication security.
As is evident from the text,
1 is a numeral system.
2 is an encryption technique.
Both use the same funda.Plenty of clues in question.
Identify X,Y,Z.
Answer:The Excess-3(XS-3)numeral system and the Caesar cipher, named after Julius Caesar.

Question 16:Truth

John X was an English pastor. X was born and raised in Southwark, on the south bank of the Thames, opposite the City of London. He was the fourth of nine children, the son of Robert X, a butcher and tavern owner, and his wife, Katherine Rogers. John X was educated at St Saviour's Grammar School in Southwark, where his father Robert was a governor. In 1625, his father, a stepsister, and two brothers died of the plague. Of his immediate family, only his mother and one brother, Thomas, remained. He entered Emmanuel College, Cambridge, in December 1627 and received his B.A. in 1632.In May 1637 he emigrated with his wife to New England and settled in Charlestown. Charlestown made him the minister of the Church, but within the following year he contracted tuberculosis and died on September 14, 1638. Childless, X bequeathed £779 17s 2d(half of his estate) and his library of around 400 volumes to the New College at nearby Cambridge, which had been founded on September 8, 1636, and to his friend, the first schoolmaster of this college, Y. Y's Records indicate that the building of the new college began immediately in 1638. It was completely constructed of wood, with a stone foundation and cellar, had its own apple orchard, and was apparently equipped with live-in accommodations for some 30 students, as there were at least that many attendant within the first year. The school renamed itself "X College" on March 13, 1639, in honour of X, its first benefactor. No records or illustrations remain of the earliest college, which burnt to the ground in 1764 along with all but one of X's original 400 volume donation.

Question 15

Just a piece of info from wiki poorly formed into a question.Nevertheless, here goes:The XY is a torus of energetic charged particles (plasma) around Earth, which is held in place by Earth's magnetic field. This field is not uniformly distributed around the Earth. On the sunward side, it is compressed because of the solar wind, while on the other side it is elongated to around three earth radii. This creates a cavity called the Chapman-Ferraro Cavity, in which the XY resides. It is split into two distinct Y, with energetic electrons forming the outer Y and a combination of protons and electrons creating the inner Y. In addition, the Y contain lesser amounts of other nuclei, such as alpha particles. The XY are closely related to the Z phenomenon where particles strike the upper atmosphere and fluoresce.Prior to the Space Age, the possibility of trapped charged particles had been investigated by Kristian Birkeland, Carl Stormer, and Nicholas Christofilos. The existence of the X was confirmed by the Explorer 1 and Explorer 3 missions in early 1958, under Dr James X at the University of Iowa. The trapped radiation was first mapped out by Explorer 4, Pioneer 3 and Luna 1.The term XY refers specifically to the surrounding Earth; however, similar Y have been discovered around other planets. The Sun does not support long-term Y.
That's all for now. Will post again soon.

Question 10

Ok,this is probably one of the easiest questions ever put together...but it is one of the most hilarious conversations in sitcoms of recent times.Just identify X.
Ted: The three days rule is insane! I mean, who even came up with that?
Barney: X!
Marshall: Barney, don’t do this, not with X.
Barney: Seriously.X started the whole wait-three-days thing. He waited three days to come back to life. It was perfect. If he would have only waited one day, a lot of people wouldn’t have even heard that he died. They’d be all, ‘Hey X, what up’? And X would probably be like, ‘What up? I died yesterday’. And then they’d be all:‘Uh, you look pretty alive to me, dude’. And then X would have to explain how it was a miracle. And then, the dude would be like, "Uh, okay, whatever you say, bro’.
Barney: And he’s not going to come back on a Saturday. Everybody’s busy doing chores, working the loom, trimming their beards.No. He waits the exact right number of days: three.
Ted:Ok, I promise, I’ll wait three days, just stop talking!
Barney: Plus, it’s Sunday, so everyone’s in church already.
They’re all in there,‘Oh no, X is dead’. Then, bam! He bursts through the back door, runs up the aisle. Everyone’s totally psyched. And, FYI, that’s when he invented the high-five.” Three days, Ted. We wait three days to call a girl because that’s how long X wants us to wait.
Answer:X is Jesus Christ, featured in a conversation from HIMYM

Question 9:True grit

X is an American mountaineer. In 2003, while he was on a canyoneering trip in Blue John Canyon (near Moab, Utah), a boulder became dislodged, crushing his right forearm and pinning it against the canyon wall. X had not told anyone of his hiking plans and knew no one would be searching for him. Assuming that he would die, he spent five days slowly sipping his small amount of remaining water while trying to extricate his arm. His efforts were futile, however, and he could not dislodge his arm even slightly. He eventually ran out of water and began to drink his own urine, carved his name, date of birth and presumed date of death into the sandstone canyon wall, and videotaped his last goodbyes to his family. After five days of trying to lift and break the boulder, he was dehydrated and delirious and prepared to amputate his trapped arm in order to escape. He forcibly levered his forearm against a chockstone until both the radius and ulna bones broke. Using the dull blade on his multiuse tool, he then cut the soft tissue around the break. He used the tool's pliers to tear at the tougher tendons. After freeing himself, he was still eight miles from his stick shift truck, and he had no cellular phone. He had to rappel down a 65-foot (20 m) sheer wall, then hike out of the canyon in the hot midday sun. While hiking out, he encountered a family of three on vacation from the Netherlands who gave him water and two Oreo cookies. They then alerted the authorities. Just as the search helicopter was turning around to fuel up, they had spotted X and the family. He was ultimately rescued by a helicopter search team. His arm was retrieved by park authorities and removed from under the boulder. It was cremated and given to him.He still climbs mountains prolifically, including a 2008 expedition to climb Ojos del Salado and Monte Pissis in Argentina. In 2005, he became the first person to climb all of Colorado's mountains over 14,000 feet in elevation solo in winter, a project he started in 1998 and resumed after his accident in Blue John Canyon. In 2008, he solo-climbed Denali and skied from the 20,320' summit. In 2009, he led an expedition with his friends on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa.X still intends to climb Mount Everest some day.
